親愛的大一新生：歡迎你來到東海大學中文系，恭喜你即將展開精彩的大學四年生活。：）然而，「精彩的大學生活」這件事不會憑空發生，你必須主動出擊、規劃你的大學生活裡要做些什麼，唯有如此，你才可能擁有一個與眾不同、令自己難忘的大學生活。

這門課是「中文」，是每一位中文系大一新生必得修習的課程。也許經歷了國中高中六年的國文課，你會感到疑惑：為什麼作為一個中文系大學生、我還需要修習「中文課」、而且還是必修呢？的確，未來的四年你必須修習多門必修課，以及依照自己的興趣與意願修習更多不同的選修課。至於在你剛踏入大學的第一門必修課「中文」，它其實可以視為是你大學生活與中文系專業的敲門磚。一方面我們將與你討論各種與文學相關的議題，閱讀更多文學作品；一方面我們也希望能以一個「過來人」的身份跟你分享關於大學生活，你可以怎麼樣開始。這門課將以時代的脈絡作為一個主要軸線，重溫或新探不同時代最精彩的文學之作。前者試著讓大家對於既已熟悉的文學作品能夠以不同的角度重新理解，更為深入或寬闊，細探從前未能仔細咀嚼與思考的各種相關文學課題。後者則希望將更多動人的文章帶給大家，藉以對於文學與世界有更為豐富的想像。

最希望在這門課與大家分享的一種心情則是：如果可以的話，請你將過往以考試為目的、選擇單一答案、找出標準題解的框架裡跳脫出來。當你以不預設任何目的、不急著找出答案、不輕易相信任何官方說法的態度去貼近文學，你會慢慢體會它動人之處，也能在理性的批判、分析與辯論，以及感性地傾聽、咀嚼與品味過程裡，真正理解文學的價值，並找到文學之於你最重要的意義所在。你將會發現能一輩子與文學相伴，是多麼幸運的一件事。

Dear freshman: Welcome to the Chinese Department of Donghai University. Congratulations on your wonderful four-year life in college. :) However, "wonderful university life" will not happen. You must take the initiative to attack and plan what to do in your university life. Only in this way can you have a university life that is different from others and will make you forget.

This course is "Chinese", which is a course that every freshman in Chinese department must take. Maybe after six years of Chinese language courses in high school and high school, you will be puzzled: Why, as a Chinese university student, do I still need to take the "Chinese course" and still be a compulsory course? In the next four years, you will have to take many compulsory courses, and learn more different choices according to your interests and intentions. As for the first compulsory course "Chinese", you just entered university, it can actually be regarded as a knock-in for your university life and Chinese major. On the one hand, we will discuss various issues related to literature with you and read more literary works; on the other hand, we also hope to share with you about university life as a "passer" and how you can start. This course will use the fusion of the times as a main axis, and will re-exploring the most exciting literary works of different eras. The former is trying to allow everyone to re-understand the literary works that they are already familiar with from different angles, and to more in-depth or broad, to explore various related literature subjects that have not been able to carefully chew and think about before. The latter hopes to bring more moving articles to everyone so that they can have more profound imaginations about literature and the world.

The most hope that I will share with you in this class is: If possible, please jump out the framework for the past exam purpose, select a single answer, and find the standard question solution. When you stick to literature with the attitude of not setting any purpose, not rushing to find the answer, and not easily trusting any official statement, you will gradually move people, and you can truly understand the value of literature in the process of rational criticism, analysis and discussion, and sensory listening, chewing and savoring, and finding the most important meaning of literature to you. You will find out how lucky you are to be with literature.

A班:該課程雖為大一共同必修課程，但對象是中文系的學生，故有其專業的考量。因此，授課內容，會配合中國文學發展的流變，使學生對中國文學的發展，從詩經、楚辭至晚清小說的概況，有基本的認識，另外，加強對文本的分析與解讀，能更細緻、深入文本的內涵，使學生具有專業的文學能力。
C班:本課程為中文系大一必修課程，亦為本系入門之重要基礎。學生甫入大學，學習方式亟待改變：必須由記誦式轉為思考式。本課程透過選文之講析，引導學生瞭解作品背後豐富之情感與深刻之思想，藉以幫助學生觀察現象、發現問題、深入思考，尋求通透之解答。對於學生從事中國文學之研究，具有一定之啟發性。
D班:此為本系一年級必修課。教學目的在培養學生分析中國古典文學作品能力、並理解中國上古中古英雄之形象。內容以講解先秦以迄唐代之敘事文為主。

Class A: Although this course is a common compulsory course for the first year of the first year, it is intended to be students in the Chinese department, so it has professional considerations. Therefore, the teaching content will cooperate with the changes in the development of Chinese literature, so that students will have basic understanding of the development of Chinese literature, from the generalization of novels from the simplicity, Chu Yuan to the late Qing Dynasty. In addition, strengthening the analysis and interpretation of text can make it more detailed and in-depth in the connotation of the text, so that students have professional literature abilities.
Class C: This course is a compulsory course for the first year of Chinese Department and is also an important foundation for entering this department. As soon as students enter university, their learning methods need to be changed: they must be transformed from a memorization to a thinking style. Through the analysis of the selected articles, this course guides students to understand the rich emotions and profound thoughts behind the work, so as to help students observe phenomena, discover problems, think deeply, and seek clear answers. It has certain innovation in the research of students in Chinese literature.
Class D: This is a compulsory course for the first grade of this department. The purpose of teaching is to cultivate students' ability to analyze Chinese classical literature works and understand the image of ancient Chinese heroes. The content mainly explains the affairs of the pre-Qin period to the Tang Dynasty.
