文學並非一切，但一切皆可為文學。所以透過文學作品的閱讀，可以裨益瞭解藝術，瞭解文化，更重要的，瞭解人生及人性。
我們期許文學能自傳統的教科書及科目考試中解放，使大眾皆能領略文學之美，進而創作、評斷文學。亦即，本課以程追求文學的生活化為目標，要在使同學能學習審視、沈思、書寫、表達內在的心靈世界。本課程以主題方式進行，每一主題選取特定相關作品，或配合相關電影，除了解析、探討其中的美學與文化的質素外，更期望同學在研讀後，培養文學與美學的心靈，照見自我生命，能反思當下存在的意義。Literature is not everything, but everything can be literature. We expect literature to be liberated from traditional textbooks and subject exams, so that the public can appreciate the beauty of literature and then create and review literature. That is, this course aims to pursue the life-oriented literature, and to enable students to learn to examine, think, write, and express the inner world of spirituality. This course is conducted in the form of a theme. Each topic selects specific related works, or cooperates with related movies. In addition to analyzing and exploring the quality of aesthetics and culture, it is also expected that students will cultivate the mind of literature and aesthetics and see their own life after studying. , be able to reflect on the meaning of existence.
本校大一中文課程名稱為「文學欣賞與實用」（一般班）與「文學閱讀與寫作」（加強寫作班），奠基於培養文學素養的基礎上，因應各學院學科屬性之不同，以及面對職場的多元需求，將課程內容規畫為四大方向：
A. 經典閱讀：針對各學院系學科屬性，擇選相應之文本進行閱讀與討論。
B. 溝通表達：藉由各式課程活動，提昇學生的書面寫作與口語表達之能力。
C. 場域連結：透過文本的閱讀與書寫，引導學生思索「自我」與社會的橫向連結。
D. 文本實踐：將文本閱讀與日常生活進行連結，付諸書寫與創作。
未來四大模組可依學院系性質、任課教師專長、以及學生興趣與需求，配搭出不同模組之組合，供學生多元學習。
