Have you ever wondered why "social worker" began to become a professional in the 20th century? In fact, "charity" works in human society and has appeared very early, mainly by religious groups to provide charitable assistance to social weaknesses, which mainly refer to people. With the pace of industrialization, individuals survive in society and have more and more problems: (severeering) gap between wealth, unemployment, prostitution, singleness, alcoholism, drug use, anti-social personality... Professional workers in social work want to find solutions to the problems for individuals in society who are facing "problems" and return to social routines. We may encounter some tricky problems
To deal with the above problems, social thinking and training are required. Instead of treating social science as a professional knowledge and research method, this course treats it as a mental quality (C. Wright Mills) that everyone needs, we call it: the imagination of social science. Although we still need to learn some special nouns and theoretical perspectives while advancing "social imagination", it is definitely not for the sake of social professionalism. Hopefully one day, when you encounter many difficulties on the road to becoming a social worker (or even a person), social thinking training can provide the possibility of breaking the deadlock.
