本課程將以上、下兩學期的時間，講授社會學理論自古典時期至當代社會學理論的發展情況，希望透過講授的安排、課堂的討論、和課外的閱讀，使學生能對社會學理論發展的歷史背景、內在理路，和社會學理論與資本主義社會生成之間的關聯有所掌握，進而了解理論建構的重要，以及理論對個人與社會具有的啟發作用。透過本課程的學習，學生可以對社會學的想像(imagination)與洞見(insight)有深一層的理解，並將這種能力運用於了解自己的社會與生活。本學期的課程將以古典三大家─Marx, Durkheim & Weber─為主要對象，並介紹結構功能論的主要論點。This course will take two semesters to teach the development of sociological theory from the classical period to contemporary sociological theory. It is hoped that through teaching arrangements, classroom discussions, and extracurricular reading, students will be able to understand the development of sociological theory. Understand the historical background, internal rationale, and the connection between sociological theory and the generation of capitalist society, and then understand the importance of theoretical construction and the inspiring role of theory on individuals and society. Through the study of this course, students can gain a deeper understanding of sociological imagination and insight, and apply this ability to understand their own society and life. This semester's course will focus on the three classical masters - Marx, Durkheim & Weber - and introduce the main arguments of structural functionalism.
