本課程的目標在於探究所謂的「中產階級」這個概念在歷史上的生成及流變，以及中產階級在台灣本土的發展。中產階級是西方資本主義發展的脈絡中的特定社會結構的產物，在概念的生成上是徹底西方的；因此，當我們把這個概念引介到台灣本土社會之時，必然會有所變化，因為台灣的社會階級當然有其自身的特殊性。本課程除了介紹中產階級這個概念在歷史上的生成背景之外，也將探討台灣中產階級的形成的歷史、社會背景，並探討台灣中產階級的特殊性。The goal of this course is to explore the historical formation and evolution of the concept of the so-called "middle class", as well as the development of the middle class in Taiwan. The middle class is the product of a specific social structure in the context of the development of Western capitalism, and the concept is completely Western; therefore, when we introduce this concept to Taiwanese society, there will inevitably be changes, because Taiwan Social classes certainly have their own particularities. In addition to introducing the historical background of the concept of the middle class, this course will also explore the historical and social background of the formation of Taiwan's middle class, and explore the particularities of Taiwan's middle class.
