「社會學?社會學是啥?」、「學社會學能幹麻?」這兩個問題大概是初次聽到「社會學」時會浮現的兩個問題。讓各位在本學期的課程中知道社會學是什麼、知曉社會學觀看各樣事物的角度,是這門課程的主要目標。
我們所身處的世界,是一個強調個體,並且趨向於在個體身上尋找行動理由的世界。翻開報紙、打開電視,各樣的事件充斥在我們的周邊,多數人談論這些事件時,總是過多強調事件主角的個性、人格以及個體選擇等,卻忽略了人是生活在這個社會之中,人的行為與選擇,有很大一部份受到社會結構的影響與限制。社會學的觀點就在幫助我們理解事情如何牽連在一起,幫助我們穿透表象,理解設我們所身處的世界是什麼樣子、以及我們如何參與在其中。"Social? What is social?", "Can society be irritated?" These two questions are probably two problems that appear when you first hear about "social". Let you know what society is and know the perspective of social viewing various things during this course. This is the main goal of this course.
The world where we are is a world where individuals are focused and tend to find reasons for action in individuals. Turn on the newspaper and open the TV. Various events fill us around us. When most people discuss these events, they always emphasize the personality, personality, and personal choices of the protagonists of the incident, and ignore that people live in this society, and a large part of their behavior and choices are affected and restricted by social structure. The perspective of social science is to help us understand how things turn together, help us penetrate appearances, understand what the world we are in and how we participate in it.

而理解架構社會的基礎、方式,與社會結構、社會組成、人群互動、歷史變遷、及存
世經驗等。社會學的基本學科精神是批判且反身自省的,因此,本課程企圖藉由介紹
社會學的基本概念,以引發社會學知識興趣及視野為主。本課程重視課堂討論與習作
實踐,盼能使修課同學能透過習作的實做及思考,一方面發現社會的多面向,同時省
思社會是否僅有唯一標準之外;另一方面也期望能夠藉由此一基礎課程,引發及訓練
來自於不同學科間的課程參與者,能將社會學的想像實踐在未來不同的性向生涯中,
並能將社會學思考的面向重新帶入實作場域。
本課程安排主要分成兩大部分,第一部分著重於社會學基本概念的引介,以及重要的
社會學研究取向與發問方式;第二部分著重於社會學和台灣社會間的關係,特別是經
濟社會學的核心關懷、分析方法、及議題視野。貫穿全課程都會特別注重有關社會不
平等之議題。期待同學在修畢這門課程之後,在往後進行經濟學相關工作與分析時,
能將社會學的思考面向重新帶入。
