健康社會學（Sociology of Health and Illness）是以社會學觀點探討與個人息息
相關的健康與醫療現象之領域。換言之，健康社會學者探索「生老病死」僅僅
是個人的生命經驗或是反映著社會結構對個人生活的影響力。因此，個人健康、
疾病分布、醫療經驗、醫療產業、醫護制度、身體經驗等面向皆是此領域所熱
切討論的議題。
隨著健康社會學五十年來的蓬勃發展與本身的議題多元性，此領域蘊含的各式
提問亦逐漸各自累積出獨特的典範取向與豐富傳統，並值得獨立討論之。本學
期的課程則鎖定「健康不平等」、「幸福的根源」、「過勞」和「醫療化」作
