What are emotions? How can we define emotions in social research? （情緒是什麼？ 在社會研究中如何界定情緒？）
What are the main theoretical and methodological perspectives of sociology of emotions? （情緒或情感社會學主要的理論與方法是什麼？）
How societal conditions or social factors affect individuals’ emotions? If so, what are some of the consequences? （社會條件或是社會成因如何形塑個人的情緒？有何後果？）
How can we regulate our emotions through individual and societal interventions? （我們如何透過個人與社會的介入來調節情緒？）
簡言之，透過對特定個案及理論的討論，我希望讓學生能夠深入理解情緒社會學中不同的研究面向；明白情緒課題對個人及社會的重要性；探討何種內外因素影響了我們的情緒狀態。同學們也將會學習一些基本的社會學的概念、理論及方法，明白如何應用這些工具來對相關議題做深入的研究，進而培養社會課題的比較及分析能力。During this period, we will pay special attention to the following questions:
What are emotions? How can we define emotions in social research?
What are the main theoretical and methodological perspectives of sociology of emotions?
How social conditions or social factors affect individuals’ emotions? If so, what are some of the consequences?
How can we regulate our emotions through individual and social interventions?
In short, through discussions on specific cases and theories, I hope that students can deeply understand the different research aspects of emotional society; understand the importance of emotional subjects to individuals and society; explore what internal and external factors affect our emotions condition. Students will also learn some basic social concepts, theories and methods, and understand how to apply these tools to conduct in-depth research on related topics, thereby cultivating the comparative and analytical skills of social topics.
