各位社工系的大一新鮮人，歡迎加入這門「社會學」！社會學就像是社工的一面放大鏡，幫助我們看見社會問題的根源，以及個人與社會之間環環相扣的互動關係。為什麼有人會陷入貧窮？性別、族群、階級如何形塑我們的機會與選擇？家庭、教育、醫療等制度又如何運作、對人造成什麼影響？這些都是我們這學期要一起追問的問題。

本課程從最基本的社會學概念出發，帶大家認識社會結構、文化、社會化、社會不平等與社會變遷等重要主題，並特別扣連台灣社會的具體現象。我們會透過課堂討論、案例分析、影片賞析、動手做活動與田野觀察等多元方式，讓大家從不同角度理解社會、培養批判思考與同理心，為未來的社工專業奠定扎實的基礎。

Dear freshmen from the Department of Social Work, welcome to join this course of "Sociology"! Sociology is like a magnifying glass for social workers, helping us see the root causes of social problems and the interlocking interactions between individuals and society. Why do people fall into poverty? How do gender, ethnicity, and class shape our opportunities and choices? How do systems such as family, education, and medical care operate, and what impact do they have on people? These are the questions we will ask together this semester.

This course starts from the most basic sociological concepts and leads you to understand important themes such as social structure, culture, socialization, social inequality and social change, especially the specific phenomena of Taiwanese society. We will use various methods such as classroom discussions, case analysis, video appreciation, hands-on activities and field observations to help everyone understand society from different perspectives, cultivate critical thinking and empathy, and lay a solid foundation for the future social work profession.

Special reminder: Please do not miss class in the first week. If the course syllabus is adjusted, it will be explained in the first week.

這是一門介紹及探討社會學基本概念及社會學所關心探究的社會現象及問題。社會學研究家庭、團體、社區、社會與國家等人群的集結與網絡，也探討文化、宗教、教育、法律規範與政治、經濟等制度與人的關係及對人的影響。本課程討論的這些議題觸及了社會運作的邏輯、社會控制的方式及政治、經濟、教育等資源的分配與不平等的形成，同時也探討性別、種族、階級等人類關係在社會化及制度形成與演變過程中對人的影響。
1.透過社會學觀點理論與社會現象觀察的基本訓練，啟發學生對於社會現象探究之興趣，建構系統性探究社會的基本知識與能力。
2.從重要的社會、文化、政治與經濟等議題的討論，協助學生理解社會體系與社會制度的運作。
3.透過社會學課程，培養學生對於社會上的弱勢族群所處之社會情境，具有提問及思考分析能力，並促使學生對於人群社會有更深層的關懷。

This is a course that introduces and explores the basic concepts of sociology and the social phenomena and issues that sociology is concerned with exploring. Sociology studies the gathering and networks of people such as families, groups, communities, societies, and countries, and also explores the relationship between culture, religion, education, legal norms, political, economic and other systems and people and their impact on people. The topics discussed in this course touch on the logic of social operation, the methods of social control, the distribution of political, economic, educational and other resources and the formation of inequality. It also explores the impact of gender, race, class and other human relations on people in the process of socialization and the formation and evolution of institutions.
1. Through basic training in sociological perspective theory and social phenomenon observation, students are inspired to be interested in exploring social phenomena and build basic knowledge and abilities to systematically explore society.
2. Help students understand social systems and the operation of social systems through discussions on important social, cultural, political and economic issues.
3. Through sociology courses, students can develop their ability to ask questions and think and analyze the social situations of disadvantaged groups in society, and encourage students to have a deeper concern for society.
