Sociological Theories
教育目標 Course Target
課程主要目標是引導本系碩士班研究生,熟悉古典到當代社會學理論的幾個主要基本問題,包括「資本主義」、「社會凝聚」、人與物的關係等。課程將讓參與者熟悉不同理論家們的問題意識、核心概念、推理邏輯與思考脈絡。參與者將從中觀摩社會學家們,如何運用不同的提問、概念、解釋架構、經驗資料和研究方法去創造社會學知識。學期短短16週,勢必無法涵蓋所有重要的理論作品。但課程期待參與者能掌握理論知識在社會學分析扮演的關鍵角色為何,並在自己未來的探究中加以活用。
The main goal of the course is to guide graduate students in the department's master's program to become familiar with several major basic issues from classical to contemporary sociological theory, including "capitalism", "social cohesion", and the relationship between people and things. The course will familiarize participants with the problem awareness, core concepts, reasoning logic and thinking context of different theorists. Participants will observe how sociologists use different questions, concepts, explanatory frameworks, empirical data and research methods to create sociological knowledge. The semester is only 16 weeks long and cannot cover all important theoretical works. However, the course expects participants to understand the key role that theoretical knowledge plays in sociological analysis and to use it in their own future inquiry.
