本學期的課程以精讀社會學理論原典為核心，主要挑選馬克思的《資本論》、韋伯的《新教倫理與資本主義精神》、傅柯的《監視與懲罰》等著作，透過相關內容的導讀和討論來認識與學習，不同理論觀點對現代社會的認識與建構方式。此外，還將安排兩個關鍵的社會理論議題｢啟蒙與現代性｣(康德/傅柯/哈伯瑪斯)、｢結構與行動｣(紀登斯/布迪厄)來進行討論，透過相關理論議題的論辯來增進更為全面的理論思考能力。

The course of this semester is centered on the intensive reading of the original classics of sociological theory, mainly selecting Marx's "Das Kapital", Weber's "Protestant Ethics and the Spirit of Capitalism", Foucault's "Surveillance and Punishment" and other works. Through the introduction and discussion of relevant content, we will understand and learn how different theoretical perspectives understand and construct modern society. In addition, two key social theoretical topics, "Enlightenment and Modernity" (Kant/Foucault/Habermas) and "Structure and Action" (Giddens/Bourdieu), will be arranged for discussion. Through debates on related theoretical topics, more comprehensive theoretical thinking abilities will be enhanced.
