本課程為大一必修中文課程，課程名稱為「文學欣賞與實用」，因授課對象是中文系的學生，有其專業的考量；然盱衡當今社會，古典文學如何與現代接軌？是每一位中文人需認真面對的問題。因此，本課程授課內容，亟欲兼顧中國文學專業素養之養成，以及傳統文學之現代化運用此兩大層面，規劃上學期為「中國文學概述」，下學期為「生活應用文」。
「中國文學概述」，將以中國文學發展之流變為整體觀照，使學生對於中國文學的歷史發展，從詩經、楚辭乃至明清小說的概況，有基本的認識，為避免瑣碎，將從「抒情傳統」與「敘事傳統」兩大脈絡介紹，從中加強對文本分析與解讀的專業能力，引導學生思考文本背後的文化內涵與思想意識，並能掌握中國文學發展之縱向軸線。
「生活應用文」，所謂應用文者，就是人們日常生活中，為應對﹑應酬﹑應付人和事所需實用的文字。應用文的特質是日常所需、以實際生活為材料，以特定的人為對象。透過本課程的學習，引導學生寫作適合時代、明白立場、認清對象的應用文，並且能夠具備閱讀應用文之知識，以清楚簡潔的文字，寫作掌握重點、符合格式的應用文。

This course is a compulsory Chinese course for freshman students. The course name is "Literature Appreciation and Practicality". Because the class is taught to students in the Chinese Department, it has its own professional considerations. However, in today's society, how does classical literature integrate with modern times? This is a problem that every Chinese person needs to face seriously. Therefore, the teaching content of this course is eager to take into account the two major aspects of the cultivation of professional literacy in Chinese literature and the modern application of traditional literature. The first semester is planned to be "Overview of Chinese Literature" and the next semester will be "Literary Practical Literature."
"Overview of Chinese Literature" will turn the development of Chinese literature into an overall view, so that students can have a basic understanding of the historical development of Chinese literature, from the Book of Songs, Songs of Chu and even the overview of novels of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In order to avoid triviality, it will be from " The two major contexts of "Lyric Tradition" and "Narrative Tradition" are introduced to strengthen the professional ability of text analysis and interpretation, guide students to think about the cultural connotation and ideology behind the text, and grasp the vertical axis of the development of Chinese literature.
"Life practical writing", the so-called practical writing refers to the practical writing that people need in daily life to cope with, socialize, and deal with people and events. The characteristics of practical writing are daily needs, using real life as the material, and targeting specific people. Through the study of this course, students will be guided to write practical essays that are suitable for the times, understand their stance, and identify their objects. They will also be able to acquire the knowledge to read practical essays and write practical essays that grasp key points and conform to the format with clear and concise words.

A班:該課程雖為大一共同必修課程，但對象是中文系的學生，故有其專業的考量。因此，授課內容，會配合中國文學發展的流變，使學生對中國文學的發展，從詩經、楚辭至晚清小說的概況，有基本的認識，另外，加強對文本的分析與解讀，能更細緻、深入文本的內涵，使學生具有專業的文學能力。
C班:本課程為中文系大一必修課程，亦為本系入門之重要基礎。學生甫入大學，學習方式亟待改變：必須由記誦式轉為思考式。本課程透過選文之講析，引導學生瞭解作品背後豐富之情感與深刻之思想，藉以幫助學生觀察現象、發現問題、深入思考，尋求通透之解答。對於學生從事中國文學之研究，具有一定之啟發性。
D班:此為本系一年級必修課。教學目的在培養學生分析中國古典文學作品能力、並理解中國上古中古英雄之形象。內容以講解先秦以迄唐代之敘事文為主。

Class A: Although this course is a common required course for freshmen, it is targeted at students in the Chinese Department, so it has its own professional considerations. Therefore, the teaching content will be in line with the development of Chinese literature, so that students will have a basic understanding of the development of Chinese literature, from the Book of Songs and Songs of Chu to the novels of the late Qing Dynasty. In addition, the analysis and interpretation of the text will be strengthened to be more detailed and in-depth into the connotation of the text, so that students will have professional literary abilities.
Class C: This course is a compulsory course for freshmen in the Chinese Department and is also an important foundation for entry into the department. When students enter university, their learning methods need to change urgently: from memorizing to thinking. Through the analysis of selected texts, this course guides students to understand the rich emotions and profound thoughts behind the works, thereby helping students observe phenomena, discover problems, think deeply, and seek transparent answers. It is inspiring to students engaged in the study of Chinese literature.
Class D: This is a compulsory course for the first year of this department. The teaching purpose is to cultivate students' ability to analyze Chinese classical literary works and understand the images of ancient and medieval Chinese heroes. The content is mainly about narrative texts from pre-Qin to Tang Dynasty.
