讓研習者了解經濟學的基本架構構與分析邏輯，並培養其獨立思考經濟課題的能力，以成為其他管理課程的基礎。本課程將從：供需法則、需求彈性、競爭市場等原理，探討經濟體系基本運作架構以及政策與經濟體系之的因果關係，期望研習者能藉由這些概念的認知獲得分析各種生活周遭經濟與社會現象的能力。最終目標是希望每一位同學都能建立起一套自我的經濟分析架構，當他們面對真實世界的各種選擇時，可以透過經濟學進行邏輯思考、分析、解釋與推演，作出理性判斷和最適決策。經濟學屬於社會科學的一支，並與現實生活息息相關，同時亦是社會大眾共同面對的問題，雖然，新的經濟議題層出不窮，但是本課程以最基礎的經濟學理論：個體與總體經濟學，為學生奠定最紮實的觀念。課堂上將特別強調個人做決策的理性過程分析，理性的爭辯是引發思考的良方，最有趣的經濟學將不只出現在課堂上或複雜的算式之中，而是化為真實世界裡的每個小小事件：在馬路邊、在公車上，或者在家庭裡。倘若你曾經好奇為什麼喜新厭舊是人之通病？或是美國人印鈔票對遠在亞洲的我們又有多大的影響？這些問題便可能在課程當中獲得令你咋舌的解釋。

Let researchers understand the basic structure and analysis logic of economics, and cultivate their ability to think independently of economic topics to become the foundation of other management courses. This course will explore the causal relationship between the basic operating structure of the economic system and the policy and economic system from the principles of: supply and demand law, demand elasticity, competitive markets, etc., and hope that researchers can gain the ability to analyze the economic and social phenomena around various life through the understanding of these concepts. The ultimate goal is to hope that every student can establish a set of his own economic analysis framework. When they face various choices in the real world, they can use economics to conduct logical thinking, analysis, explanation and deduction, and make rational judgments and the most appropriate decisions. Economics is a branch of social sciences and is closely related to real life. It is also a problem faced by the public. Although the new economic issues are not bad, this course uses the most basic economic theory: individual and overall economics to lay the most practical concepts for students. The rational process analysis of individual decisions is specially emphasized in the classroom. Rational conflicts are a good way to lead to thinking. The most interesting economics will not only appear in the classroom or in complex formulas, but will be transformed into every small event in the real world: on the road, on the bus, or at home. If you were ever curious why it is common to people to like new people? Or how much impact does the American Indian vote have on us who are far away in Asia? These problems may be solved in the course.

本課程為3-0學分之設計，在有限的時間內，強調對經濟學基本概念的了解，並啟發學生利用經濟學之相關知識，協助其對工業工程相關議題之思考與應用，以提昇決策品質。

This course is designed for 3-0 points. In a limited time, it emphasizes understanding of the basic concepts of economics and creates students' use of relevant economic knowledge to assist them in thinking and applying related issues of industrial engineering to improve the quality of decisions.
