經濟學主要研究理性的決策者，如何利用有限的資源，以滿足人類的慾望。大一經濟學共分二學期，第一學期(上學期)以個體經濟學為主，第二學期(下學期)以總體經濟學為主。上學期個體經濟學，主要介紹個別經濟單位，包含消費者、廠商、政府等，的決策行為。例如，消費者(代表需求面)在有限的預算如何消費可返族效用最大；廠商(代表供給面)在有限的投入成本下，如何生產與銷售，可使生產成本最小，或利潤最大。接著透過消費者的需求，與生產者的供給，在不同的市場達成消費均衡。篇幅最後，介紹在市場失靈的情況下政府的職能。

Economics mainly studies how rational decision-makers use limited resources to satisfy human desires. Freshman Economics is divided into two semesters. The first semester (the first semester) is mainly about individual economics, and the second semester (the second semester) is mainly about general economics. In the last semester, individual economics mainly introduced the decision-making behavior of individual economic units, including consumers, manufacturers, governments, etc. For example, how consumers (representing the demand side) consume with a limited budget can maximize the family utility; manufacturers (representing the supply side) can produce and sell under limited input costs to minimize production costs or maximize profits. Then through consumer demand and producer supply, consumption balance is reached in different markets. At the end of the article, the functions of the government in the case of market failure are introduced.
