本課程為經濟學入門課程，主要在教授基本經濟學學理，並將之與日常生活應用及實際經濟現象相互印證，進一步達到啟發學生對經濟事務產生興趣與認識，以及具備初級經濟分析能力的目的。並期望修習完本課程的學生對於工業工程與管理能有一與經濟學相關連的認識，並具備有基礎的分析與解決問題的觀念與知識。

This course is an economics course, mainly teaches basic economics science, and imprints it with daily life applications and actual economic phenomena, further achieving the purpose of initiating students' interest and understanding of economic affairs, as well as having primary economic analysis abilities. It is also expected that students who have completed this course will have a close understanding of industrial engineering and management related to economics, and have basic analysis and problem-solving concepts and knowledge.

本課程為3-0學分之設計，在有限的時間內，強調對經濟學基本概念的了解，並啟發學生利用經濟學之相關知識，協助其對工業工程相關議題之思考與應用，以提昇決策品質。

This course is designed for 3-0 points. In a limited time, it emphasizes understanding of the basic concepts of economics and creates students' use of relevant economic knowledge to assist them in thinking and applying related issues of industrial engineering to improve the quality of decisions.
