「社會」是什麼,它如何形成與運作?個人與社會有何關係,如何受到社會的形塑和框限?希望透過本學期的課程安排,能讓同學們管窺到社會學的研究旨趣與重要主題,學會使用社會學的方式來觀察與思考社會現象,進而,可以適度區辨社會學與法律學的不同視角。
在課程設計上,主要分成兩個部分。第一部分由授課教師主講,簡介社會學的基本理論與重要主題,諸如:現代社會的形成、社會學的想像、文化、社會生活的結構、差異與不平等、偏差行為與社會控制、資本主義、社會變遷與全球化、社會運動與社會實踐。各主題的週次安排,詳見「四、各週主題」(第3頁)。
第二部分則安排了辯論比賽,在同學們分組後,以抽籤決定辯論題目與正反立場,並於後半學期的課堂上進行比賽。辯論題目主要為法律相關的政策性命題,例如:死刑存廢、安樂死合法化、性交易合法化、代理孕母合法化、通姦除罪化、大麻合法化、陪審團制、核電存廢等。希望同學們可以透過賽前準備、場上交鋒、賽後討論的過程,深化對於前述議題的理解與思辨。

What is "society" and how does it form and operate? What is the relationship between individuals and society? How are they shaped and framed by society? I hope that through the course arrangement of this school, students can manage the research interests and important topics of society, and learn to observe and think about social phenomena using social science. In addition, they can appropriately distinguish the different perspectives between social science and law.
In course design, it is mainly divided into two parts. The first part is taught by the teacher, which introduces the basic theories and important topics of society, such as: the formation of modern society, the imagination of society, culture, the structure of social life, differences and inequality, biased behavior and social control, capitalism, social change and globalization, social movement and social reality. The weekly schedule of each topic, please see "IV. Weekly Topics" (Page 3).
The second part arranges a discussion competition. After the students are divided, the discussion topic and the positive and negative stage will be decided by drawing a tag, and the competition will be held in the class in the second half of the year. The discussion topics are mainly legally related policy issues, such as: death penalty, legalization of sanitary death, legalization of sexual transactions, legalization of surrogacy, decriminalization of rape, legalization of marijuana, escort system, nuclear power storage waste, etc. I hope that students can deepen their understanding and thinking about the above-mentioned issues through the process of preparing for the game, handing in the game, and discussing after the game.
