課程目標在於訓練同學能夠對與政治學門有一個基礎性的認識。此課程為三學分相當重要的入門課程，本系同學能夠從政治理論的視角，以及國際關係的視角，來了解政治學範疇的研究主題、研究領域、關鍵文獻、重要概念、原文詞彙、知識論入門與方法論入門等。本課程修習完畢，同學們不但會對政治學有扎實的訓練，同時也會有良好的英文政治學詞彙能力，為政治系後續的課程做準備。

The purpose of the course is to train students to have a basic understanding of the political science department. This course is a very important entry course for the three studies. Students in this department can understand the research topics, research areas, key texts, important concepts, original lyrics, knowledge and method discussions in the political science field from the perspective of political theory and the perspective of international relations. After completing this course, students will not only have a solid training in politics, but also have good English political vocabulary skills and prepare for the subsequent courses in the political department.

本課程重點在於分析政治學面對的挑戰。它試圖幫助學習者深入瞭解政治事務。一方面，我們要回顧長期累積的重要概念。另一方面，我們試圖說明這些概念和21世紀初期真實世界間的關聯性。再者，我們試圖從實證角度闡明政治結構和運作過程。其中包括個人政治信念和作為，以及團體和國家的變化情形。

The focus of this course is on analyzing the challenges facing political science. Its trial images help learners gain insight into political affairs. On the one hand, we need to review the important concept of long-term accumulation. On the other hand, we try to illustrate the correlation between these concepts and the real world in the early 21st century. Furthermore, we try to clarify political structure and operational processes from a practical perspective. This includes personal political beliefs and roles, as well as changes in groups and countries.
