本課程預計把古典小說的內容和現實人生做連結，文學不是難懂的字詞或意義的背誦，也不是從中猜測複雜的意象，應該是歷久彌堅的人生智慧結晶，甚至是可做為吾人參考的人生哲學。因此，進入大學，展開新生活的第一步，應先定義自己將如何「學」，然後肯定「自我」的獨特性與價值，往目標前進，期不迷失自我；接著往外拓展人際圈，學著如何「交朋友」，在新人生的開始找到「志同道合」、「不離不棄」的知心友。最後進入「愛情」此一課題，人人都需要愛，多元的社會愛情也有不同的樣貌，希望我們能在古人的悲歡離合中，成熟自己，並學會放手及祝福的藝術。在本課程中，除了文本的閱讀，更有時事、經驗的分享及討論，冀望同學藉此訓練自我思辨及多元思考的能力，更能以同理心及愛心來關懷週遭的人事物，成為「有情」之人。This course plans to link the content of classical novels with real life.
