本課程主要目標在訓練學生瞭解科學研究方法的內涵，期能藉由課堂講授，讓學生研習本課程後能對各種研究方法進行之方式，以及應如何有系統地進行研究有更深入的瞭解；此外，藉由經典文獻閱讀，希望能讓學生瞭解一個好的研究應包含哪些程序及作法；最後，藉由讓學生實際執行一項研究，讓學生體認完整的研究流程，實際運用課堂知識，以培養紮實的科學研究能力。

The main goal of this course is to train students to understand the connotation of scientific research methods. It is expected that through classroom lectures, students will have a deeper understanding of various research methods and how to conduct research systematically. In addition, through reading classic literature, it is hoped that students will understand what procedures and practices should be included in a good research. Finally, by allowing students to actually perform a research, students will understand the complete research process and actually apply classroom knowledge to cultivate solid scientific research capabilities.
