本課程的討論中心為近代人物，在制訂政策、引領國家走向的重要政治領導者之外，將眼光擴及與百姓接觸、進而使其生活產生根本變革，擁有實際影響力的各階層，透過講述這些重要人物的作用，解釋近代中國由興盛走向危機，人民由封閉走想開放的過程，令學生在傳統政治史教學方法之外，對中國近代歷史發展有更深入的認識與了解，希望讓學生有更開闊的歷史文化胸襟。The discussion center of this course is a modern figure. In addition to the important political leaders who formulate policies and lead the country's direction, they will expand their vision to contact the people and make fundamental changes in their lives.
