本課程之目標與內容，係在探討刑法總則中，各項應適用於刑法分則以及其他相關刑事法令之共通原理。刑法總則規範犯罪行為之一般要件與法律效果，據以建立判斷是否成立犯罪與應否科處刑罰之體系。此外，並研究刑法分則所規定各個犯罪行為立法上保護之法益，以及刑法分則中重要犯罪行為之類型、結構與要件。

The goal and content of this course is to explore the general principles of criminal law and the common principles that should be applied to the sub-principles of criminal law and other related criminal laws. The General Principles of Criminal Law regulate the general requirements and legal effects of criminal acts, and establish a system for judging whether a crime has been established and whether a crime should be punished. In addition, it also studies the legal interests protected by legislation for each criminal act stipulated in the criminal law sub-provisions, as well as the types, structure and elements of important criminal acts in the criminal law sub-provisions.
