本課程承繼大二的政治學研究法基礎，於開始對研究法作簡略的複習後，課程主要重點在針對統計學的基本原則和方法，以及統計學在社會科學的運用之教學，期使同學對統計在研究政治現象所扮演的角色有深入的瞭解。並配合統計軟體的介紹與實作，使學生能夠獨立從事資料分析。著重於社會科學的研究法重要觀念快速複習以及資料的分析和統計學實務的研討和實作。主要內容有(1) 社會科學研究法，研究的基本概念和研究設計； (2) 統計學在社會科學的運用與角色；(3) 統計分析的方法(使用MS EXCEL、SPSS)。最終目標使學生能夠使用SPSS獨立從事資料分析。

This course inherits the foundation of political science research methods for sophomores. After a brief review of research methods, the course mainly focuses on the teaching of the basic principles and methods of statistics, as well as the application of statistics in social sciences, hoping to enable students to have an in-depth understanding of the role statistics plays in studying political phenomena. It is also coupled with the introduction and implementation of statistical software to enable students to independently engage in data analysis. It focuses on a quick review of important concepts of research methods in social sciences, as well as the discussion and implementation of data analysis and statistical practice. The main contents include (1) social science research methods, basic concepts and research design of research; (2) application and role of statistics in social sciences; (3) statistical analysis methods (using MS EXCEL, SPSS). The ultimate goal is to enable students to independently engage in data analysis using SPSS.
