動物營養學旨在闡述各營養分之定義、特性及代謝機制，並說明動物如何將食物中營養分轉換成體組織，以及產生能量以維持生命與活動之機制，因應人口增加、氣候變遷，友善環境、食品安全、動物福祉等相關議題，動物營養學相關研究與時俱進，在動物科學領域主要以家畜禽之營養為主，期望透過教學使學生熟悉原理，以便應用於經濟動物的平衡飼糧與飼養管理，促進生產效率提升及產業永續經營。

Animal Nutrition aims to describe the definitions, characteristics and reliance mechanisms of various nutrients, and to explain how animals convert nutrients in food into tissues, as well as mechanisms that generate energy to maintain life and activities. Due to the increase in population and climate change, it is friendly to the environment, food safety, and animal blessings. In the field of animal nutrition, the research and development of animal nutrition has been carried out in a variety of aspects. In the field of animal science, the main focus is on the nutrition of livestock and poultry. It is hoped that through teaching, students will be familiar with the principles so as to apply it to the balanced diet and breeding management of economic animals, promote the improvement of production efficiency and the continuous operation of industry.
