此課程開設之目的，在使環境科學與工程學系的學生，能對微生物實驗方法有充分認識，未來能在環境科學、環境工程與微生物學相關範疇靈活運用這些觀念與方法，包括環境保護、汙染整治、監測、生態保育、遺傳工程、分子生物學等。
