此課程開設之目的，在使生命科學系的學生，能對微生物實驗方法有充分認識，未來能靈活運用這些觀念與方法於微生物學相關學術領域，如生態保育、臨床醫學、遺傳工程、分子生物學或甚至是跨學科的範疇。藉認識地球上微尺度的眾多生物，而能探索肉眼無法看見的生命現象，進而認知生命尺度的廣闊。

The purpose of this course is to enable students in the Department of Life Sciences to fully understand microbial experimental methods and to flexibly apply these concepts and methods in microbiology-related academic fields in the future, such as ecological conservation, clinical medicine, genetic engineering, molecular biology, or even interdisciplinary fields. By understanding the many micro-scale organisms on the earth, we can explore life phenomena that are invisible to the naked eye, and then understand the vastness of the scale of life.

教授微生物學實驗的操作與觀念，包括微生物的培養、控制、保存，形態與生理生化特性之測定、描述，和食品或環境中微生物的多樣性與分類學的專題研究。本課程藉由實際的實驗操作與討論，使學生能掌握基本的實驗方法，奠定現代微生物學相關研究的基礎。

Teach the operations and concepts of microbiology experiments, including the cultivation, control, and preservation of microorganisms, the determination and description of morphological and physiological and biochemical characteristics, and special research on the diversity and taxonomy of microorganisms in food or the environment. Through practical experimental operations and discussions, this course enables students to master basic experimental methods and lay the foundation for modern microbiology-related research.
