近三十年賽局理論已成為一門不可或缺的研究領域。其方法論非常廣泛地應用在許多學科上,包括經濟學、政治學、生物學、哲學、法律、社會心理學、商學、國際關係以及資訊科學等。當決策者追求某一外生目標時,他知道他的行動會影響其他決策者的行為若其他決策者也同時如此考慮時,賽局理論能幫助我們找出參賽者的策略抉擇。鑑於賽局理論已是經濟學研究生必備的分析工具,這門課程的目標不但要讓學生充分了解理論本身,更著重應用此理論於無數的現代經濟學模型及其他學科上的模型。
Game theory has become an indispensable research field in the past thirty years. Its methodology is widely used in many disciplines, including economics, political science, biology, philosophy, law, social psychology, business, international relations, and information science. When a decision maker pursues an exogenous goal, he knows that his actions will affect the actions of other decision makers. If other decision makers also consider this at the same time, game theory can help us find out the strategic choices of the players. Since game theory has become an essential analytical tool for graduate students in economics, the goal of this course is not only to provide students with a full understanding of the theory itself, but also to focus on applying this theory to countless modern economics models and models in other disciplines.
