本課程教學目的，教導學生正確羽球的認知，並學會羽球運動基本步伐、技巧與方法，教材內容設計從基本技巧到聯串整合，最終能下場參與競賽，享受比賽的樂趣，並建構屬於自己所擁有的認知與技能。
課程學習能輔以規則講授，講授相關的競賽規則，並且能執行裁判工作。並培養學生團隊的觀念，灌輸正確運動技巧避免運動傷害的產生，以及當運動傷害發生時候，如何處理與因應，避免造成更大傷害。
課程能依據學生的程度，設計適合的課程內容，符合多元目標、尊重學生個別差異。學習的過程中能灌輸正確有關體育運動的認知，瞭解健康的體適能的重要性及對人類生活的影響，並強化其心理建設，提升個人社會適應能力，以建立正確休閒生活習慣。
The teaching purpose of this course is to teach students a correct understanding of badminton, and to learn the basic steps, techniques and methods of badminton.
