本課程介紹心理學的基本概念，提供通往心理學的路徑，以協助學生有效學習、思考與使用心理學的知識，以便更了解自我與他人的心智與行為。

心理學是一門多元性的科學，心理學試圖探究人類行為與心理歷程變化的普遍原理原則。這門心理學課程涵蓋了心理學的歷史發展，人類的大腦及神經系統對人行為影響的介紹，人的知覺及意識狀態，人類行為學習的原理，記憶的廣度及遺忘歷程，語言、思考與問題解決，智力與能力介紹，人格理論的介紹，行為的動機，人類的情緒，異常行為的成因及類別，心理治療，人類對壓力反應與健康等等的內容使學生能對人類心理有基礎性的瞭解。
