法學緒論是法學之入門科目，在整個教學與學習上，本課程特別著重法律之共通原則，例如關於權利義務之本質、法律之效力、法律與道德習俗之異同、公法與私法之區別等法學上之基本概念，使初學者大致認識法律之輪廓。另外，本課程藉由日常生活事實，探討法律相關問題，讓同學對法律產生興趣，進而打下修習其他法律課程的基礎（例如憲法、行政法等課程），也能使學生自發學習法律，真正將法治觀念自基礎扎根，以銜接其他法律課程。Introduction to Law is the introductory subject of law. Throughout the teaching and learning, this course places special emphasis on the common principles of law, such as the nature of rights and obligations, the effectiveness of law, the similarities and differences between law and moral customs, the difference between public law and private law, etc. The basic concepts enable beginners to roughly understand the outline of the law. In addition, this course explores legal-related issues through daily life facts, so that students can become interested in law, and then lay the foundation for studying other legal courses (such as constitutional law, administrative law, etc.). It can also enable students to learn law voluntarily and truly apply it. The concept of the rule of law is rooted in the foundation to connect with other legal courses.
法學是社會生活的科學。人與人從事工商交易、成立家庭、養育子女、承繼遺產以及參與政府組織、享用公共資源、行使公民權利、擔負社會義務時，均會受到法律之規範。因此，可以說法律是我們日常公、私生活不可或缺之科學。本課程即介紹公、私生活所必要的法學知識。
Law is the science of social life. When people engage in industrial and commercial transactions, start a family, raise children, inherit inheritance, participate in government organizations, enjoy public resources, exercise civil rights, and assume social obligations, they will all be regulated by the law. Therefore, it can be said that law is an indispensable science in our daily public and private lives. This course introduces the legal knowledge necessary for public and private life.
