社會工作研究方法協助我們將對社會現象與實務議題的關心，轉化為可以有系統探究的研究問題，並透過研究證據理解服務需求、檢視既有看法及思考實務工作的可能方向。學習研究方法，不僅是學習如何執行研究，也包括如何閱讀研究、判斷證據，以及理解研究結論的適用範圍與限制。
本學期聚焦量化研究方法，透過課堂講授與小組實作，引導同學從大學生生活經驗及具有社會工作意義的議題出發，提出研究問題，並在共同主題群中協調問卷內容，逐步完成一份量化研究計畫書，走過研究問題的形成、文獻回顧、研究倫理考量、概念化與操作化、測量工具選用、問卷設計、抽樣及資料分析規劃等歷程。過程中透過每週討論、階段任務、同儕回饋與期末發表，學習說明研究設計的理由，檢視研究問題、文獻與方法之間的連結，並依據回饋修正計畫。下學期則進一步進行正式問卷施測、學習質性研究方法，透過訪談實作理解不同研究取向如何探究社會現象，最後進行研究成果展示。

Social work research methods help us transform our concerns about social phenomena and practical issues into research questions that can be systematically explored, and use research evidence to understand service needs, examine existing opinions, and think about possible directions for practical work. Learning research methods involves not only learning how to perform research, but also how to read research, judge evidence, and understand the scope and limitations of research conclusions.
This semester focuses on quantitative research methods. Through classroom lectures and group practice, students are guided to propose research questions based on college students’ life experiences and issues of social work significance, and coordinate questionnaire contents among common theme groups. They gradually complete a quantitative research plan and go through the process of research question formation, literature review, research ethics considerations, conceptualization and operationalization, selection of measurement tools, questionnaire design, sampling and data analysis planning. During the process, through weekly discussions, stage tasks, peer feedback and final presentation, you will learn to explain the reasons for the research design, examine the connections between research questions, literature and methods, and revise the plan based on feedback. In the next semester, students will further conduct formal questionnaire testing, learn qualitative research methods, understand how different research orientations explore social phenomena through interviews, and finally display the research results.

「社會工作研究法」這門課旨在協助同學將社會科學研究方法運用到社會工作領域中，協助同學具備進行社會工研究所需的知識，培養同學具備獨立思考與判斷，以及分析與探究事實能力。這門課是大三必修課，首重講解與討論，讓同學們瞭解社會工作研究方法的重要概念、方法與步驟，以及其在社會工作實務上與日常生活上的應用。課程內容包括：社會工作研究基本概念與專有名詞的介紹；各類型研究方法的介紹，包括其發展歷史、基本理念、研究過程與步驟等；如何形成研究問題；如何尋找與整理文獻資料；如何選取研究對象；如何進行資料蒐集；如何進行資料分析；如何進行研究的寫作等。配合上述上課單元的進度，同學必須實際操作一份研究計畫並進行討論，從實際演練中了解從事社會工作研究的步驟與過程，以及其中可能遭遇的問題與困難。期待透過這門課的學習，讓同學能夠具備社會工作核心才能之一 ： 有能力針對社會工作領域的相關現象與議題進行探索、描述與解釋。

The course "Social Work Research Methods" aims to help students apply social science research methods to the field of social work, to help students acquire the knowledge necessary to conduct social work research, and to cultivate students' independent thinking and judgment, as well as the ability to analyze and explore facts. This course is a required course for junior students. It focuses on explanation and discussion first, allowing students to understand the important concepts, methods and steps of social work research methods, as well as their application in social work practice and daily life. The course contents include: introduction to the basic concepts and proper nouns of social work research; introduction to various types of research methods, including their development history, basic concepts, research processes and steps, etc.; how to formulate research questions; how to find and organize literature; how to select research objects; how to collect data; how to analyze data; how to write research, etc. In accordance with the progress of the above-mentioned class units, students must actually operate a research project and discuss it. Through the actual exercise, they can understand the steps and processes of conducting social work research, as well as the problems and difficulties they may encounter. We hope that through the study of this course, students will be able to acquire one of the core competencies of social work: the ability to explore, describe and explain relevant phenomena and issues in the field of social work.
