「法學緒論」是為法律初學者開設的導論課程，課程目的在於提供學習法律的入門思辨，希望能夠讓初學者宏觀瞭解法律制度、理解法律淵源、建構法律體系，同時訓練法律思維－－如何解釋法律、適用法律、批判法律或改變法律。此外，也試圖思考法律與社會之間的關係，諸如：法律與政治、法律與族群、法律與文學、法律與性別等。在課程之中，希望師生共同參與，本於獨立思考、相互理性溝通，養成自主學習的能力，達成法律學系學生的法律專業基礎訓練，以及非法律學系學生的法學通識（或基礎）課程。

"Introduction to Law" is an introductory course for legal beginners. The purpose of the course is to provide introductory thinking for learning law. It is hoped that it will enable beginners to have a macroscopic understanding of the legal system, understand the sources of law, construct a legal system, and at the same time train legal thinking - how to interpret the law, apply the law, criticize the law or change the law. In addition, we also try to think about the relationship between law and society, such as: law and politics, law and ethnicity, law and literature, law and gender, etc. In the course, teachers and students are expected to participate together, based on independent thinking, rational communication with each other, and develop the ability to learn independently, so as to achieve basic legal professional training for law students and general law (or basic) courses for non-law students.

法學是社會生活的科學。人與人從事工商交易、成立家庭、養育子女、承繼遺產以及參與政府組織、享用公共資源、行使公民權利、擔負社會義務時，均會受到法律之規範。因此，可以說法律是我們日常公、私生活不可或缺之科學。本課程即介紹公、私生活所必要的法學知識。

Law is the science of social life. When people engage in industrial and commercial transactions, start a family, raise children, inherit inheritance, participate in government organizations, enjoy public resources, exercise civil rights, and assume social obligations, they will all be regulated by the law. Therefore, it can be said that law is an indispensable science in our daily public and private lives. This course introduces the legal knowledge necessary for public and private life.
