本課程主要在於提供修課同學對於政治學基本概念之理解，期使同學們能對政治學研究的範圍與主題有初步的認識。整體課程內容亦將參據世界各國家發展與經驗，且以我國的經驗與相關文獻等進行跨國式的參照。課程中將會透過教學、對話、思辨、參訪等途徑，鼓勵學生觀察政治事務，培養獨立思考的能力。期使修課的同學們除能了解政治學理論的知識，並能具備分析政治現象的能力，以及對我國當前之政治發展有所認知，同時培養學生參與國家考試之能力。

This course is mainly intended to provide students with an understanding of the basic concepts of political science, so that students can have a preliminary understanding of the scope and themes of political science research. The overall course content will also refer to the development and experience of various countries around the world, and make cross-national references based on my country's experience and relevant literature. In the course, students will be encouraged to observe political affairs and develop their ability to think independently through teaching, dialogue, speculation, visits, etc. This course enables students to not only understand the knowledge of political science theory, but also have the ability to analyze political phenomena and have an understanding of my country's current political development. It also develops students' ability to participate in national examinations.

本課程試圖幫助學習者深入瞭解政治事務。一方面回顧長期累積的重要概念；另一方面試圖說明這些概念和21世紀初期真實世界間的關聯性，並試圖從實證角度闡明政治結構和運作過程。其中包括個人政治信念和作為，以及團體和國家的變化情形。

This course attempts to provide learners with an in-depth understanding of political affairs. On the one hand, it reviews the important concepts accumulated over a long period of time; on the other hand, it attempts to illustrate the correlation between these concepts and the real world in the early 21st century, and attempts to elucidate the political structure and operation process from an empirical perspective. These include personal political beliefs and actions, as well as changes in groups and countries.
