針對政治學中主要的領域及其研究作廣泛介紹，除了對現階段政治理論作批判外，也介紹現階段的各種研究方法以及新的研究發展方向。本課程除了可以豐富學生的研究視野，也可以奠定研究的基礎。除了讓學生瞭解目前研究的主要潮流外，對於學生將來研究的定向，也具有指標性和引導性。

二、主要內容 :
　　本課程的目標是讓博士生對政治學的發展有初步和進階的認識與理解，以培育學術研究與政治學教學的專長。因此除了對目前政治學研究的現況進行廣泛的介紹外，也深入的討論未來的發展與方向。內容包括：一、政治學典範之變遷；二、憲政制度與運作；三、國際關係與全球在地化；四、地方治理與區域發展等。
因此，本課程主要要求修課的博士生導讀四篇以上的中英文學術論文，其來源為五年內出版的SSCI與TSSCI。一方面，修課學生可以針對其研究方向選擇教材；另一方面則是將導讀的論文限制於最新發表的期刊。與此同時，修課的博士生仍須同時進行上述的課程進度。

2. Main content:
The goal of this course is to provide doctoral students with a preliminary and advanced knowledge and understanding of the development of political science, so as to cultivate expertise in academic research and political science teaching. Therefore, in addition to providing a broad introduction to the current status of political science research, we also provide an in-depth discussion of future development and directions. The contents include: 1. Changes in political science paradigms; 2. Constitutional system and operation; 3. International relations and global localization; 4. Local governance and regional development, etc.
Therefore, this course mainly requires doctoral students to read more than four academic papers in Chinese and English, the sources of which are SSCI and TSSCI published within five years. On the one hand, students taking courses can choose teaching materials according to their research directions; on the other hand, the introductory papers are limited to the latest published journals. At the same time, doctoral students taking courses must still proceed with the above-mentioned course progress at the same time.
