東海大學哲學系博士班成立之目的，在於培養哲學研究與教學之人才，而論文寫作能力之訓練為本系教學重點之一。畢業論文之設立，在於訓練學生獨立思考、寫作、提問、深入研究與解決哲學問題之能力，有助於教學目的之達成。
本課程係非講演性質之課程，學生須依本系碩博士班修業規則之規定進行論文之撰寫與考試。

The purpose of establishing the doctoral program in the Department of Philosophy of Tunghai University is to cultivate talents in philosophical research and teaching, and the training of thesis writing ability is one of the teaching focuses of this department. The establishment of the graduation thesis is to train students' ability to think independently, write, ask questions, conduct in-depth research and solve philosophical problems, which is helpful to achieve the purpose of teaching.
This course is a non-lecture course. Students are required to write and take examinations of thesis in accordance with the regulations for master's and doctoral programs in the department.
