本學期，我們將會探討社會科學家們如何透過質性研究⽅法來規劃並執⾏研究計畫，同時我們也會說明與這些任務相關的"big picture"，例如理論、專業⽂化、政治議題等等。在本學期結束前，你將會了解如何選擇最適合你的研究議題之⽅法，並運⽤這個⽅法來收集、分析資料。
除此之外，因本課程開設給研究⽣，在課程設計上將會以課堂討論為主，⽽非只單純地教師講授課程，學⽣也需要在課前先做好準備，包括閱讀課程指定讀物等，如此才能讓課程進⾏地更加順利。

請注意，課程⼤綱將會依教學進度及學⽣需求進⾏調整。另外，課程進⾏⽅式將在第⼀週上課時詳細說明，欲修習此堂課的同學請第⼀堂課⼀定要出席。

This semester, we will explore how social scientists use qualitative research methods to plan and execute research projects. We will also explain the "big picture" related to these tasks, such as theory, professional culture, political issues, etc. By the end of this semester, you will understand how to choose the method that best suits your research topic and use this method to collect and analyze data.
In addition, because this course is offered to graduate students, the course design will be based on classroom discussions, rather than just teachers teaching the course. Students also need to prepare before class, including reading the course designated readings, etc., so that the course can go more smoothly.

Please note that the course syllabus will be adjusted according to teaching progress and student needs. In addition, the course conduct method will be explained in detail in the first week of class. Students who want to take this class must attend the first class.

質化研究是一門社會科學領域常用的研究方法論課程，本課程介紹餐旅領域常使用之質化研究方法的觀點與研究過程，以文本分析研究為主認識質化研究特質，詮釋典範的相關觀點、量化與質化研究差異、質性研究企劃過程、資料收集方法及技巧、研究倫理、寫作方式等；並協助同學選擇碩士論文主題、找出問題意識、整理文獻、擬出研究架構，撰寫研究大綱、並執行質化研究過程。

Qualitative research is a commonly used research methodology course in the field of social sciences. This course introduces the viewpoints and research processes of qualitative research methods commonly used in the field of hospitality and hospitality. It focuses on text analysis research to understand the characteristics of qualitative research, and interprets relevant viewpoints, quantification and qualitativeization of examples. Research differences, qualitative research planning process, data collection methods and techniques, research ethics, writing methods, etc.; and assist students in selecting master's thesis topics, identifying problem awareness, organizing literature, formulating a research structure, writing a research outline, and executing the qualitative research process.
