社會工作關注人與環境的雙重焦點,而「人類行為與社會環境」就是在社會工作領域當中非常基礎且重要的課程,因為課程內容對於瞭解「個人」在其各個生活週期與過程中,如何去適應「周遭環境」的要求,提供了基本的知識。故一方面探討人類在不同階段的生理、心理與社會層面的發展,以及關鍵性的影響因素及意義,另一方面要觸及並討探與人類因應環境有關的重要社會環境。人類在社會環境中有哪些因素是優勢,哪些因素是屬於限制或傷害性的元素;人類行為又如何受內在本身因素及外在社會環境因素的影響;作為社會工作人員要如何做一個協助服務對象適應及滿足需要的中介者、如何協助服務對象與社會環境中的調適,以及如何由社會環境中取得資源同時減少社會環境的傷害因素也是這門課包含的重點。本課程之教學重點在於確認影響和塑造人類行為的重要概念因素,如此將能有助於未來學生成為實務工作者在提供服務協助時,培養社會工作助人專業的預估(assessment)和處遇(treatment/intervention)之能力,去改善服務對象之行為、環境、以及個人與環境之間的交互作用 (調適)。
透過本課程的學習,期許學生能在以下面向,對社會工作專業知識與技能有更豐富的積累:
1. 知識層面:
(1) 了解人與環境間的關係,進而學習環境是如何對個人產生影響。
(2) 了解不同生命歷程中,個人所可能需要的重要發展目標與困境。
(3) 掌握社會工作理論,以期能學習如何辨識個人與環境間的連結與互動。
2. 專業價值層面
(1) 提升學生對不同層面(包含:生理、心理、社會與文化)對個人產生的影響的辨識能力。
(2) 認識社會工作如何協助個人、家庭、社區或組織因應環境所帶來的影響。
3. 專業技巧層面
(1) 強化學生的敏感度與文化辨識能力,進而協助學生強化對個人、家庭、團體或社區的關係建立能力,與增進對其的同理與充權能力。
(2) 提升學生對社會工作理論的理解,進而協助學生發展社會工作的獨特工作視野,能學習辨識個人與其所處環境的連結與互動。
(3) 促進學生連結社會工作理論與實務工作介入技巧與運用能力。本課程是一學年的課程,旨在協助學生透過知識性的學習以對複雜的人類行為與經驗有所了解。在本課程中,會從人的生命歷程時間軸出發,逐一講述在不同的生命歷程中,人的行為特徵與可能的重要生命衝擊與事件,及其與環境的關係。另一方面,會透過一系列的理論介紹,協助學生了解個人是如何發展自我及與環境互動。最後會透過實務工作技巧的說明,協助學生增進個人技能,用以在不同狀況下,對個人、家庭、團體或社區提供協助。
Social work focuses on the dual focus of people and environment, and "human behavior and social environment" is a very basic and important course in the social work field, because the content of the course provides basic knowledge about understanding how "persons" can adapt to the requirements of "environmental environment" in their various life cycles and processes. Therefore, on the one hand, we explore the development of human physiological, psychological and social aspects at different stages, as well as the key influence factors and meanings, and on the other hand, we need to explore important social environments related to human causal environment. What factors are advantages in the social environment and which factors are restrictive or harmful elements; how human behavior is affected by internal factors and external social environment factors; how social workers should be an intermediary who assists the service target and meets needs, how to assist the service target and the social environment, and how to obtain resources from the social environment and reduce the harm factors of the social environment are also the key points included in this course. The focus of this course is to identify important conceptual factors that affect and shape human behavior, which will help future students to develop the professional assessment and treatment/intervention ability of social work to help people when providing service assistance, and to improve the behavior of service targets, the environment, and the interaction between individuals and the environment (adaptable).
Through the learning of this course, students are expected to have a greater burden on professional knowledge and skills in social work in the following aspects:
1. Knowledge layer:
(1) Understand the relationship between people and the environment, and then learn how the environment has an impact on individuals.
(2) Understand the important development goals and dilemmas that individuals may need in different life courses.
(3) Master social work theory in order to learn how to distinguish the connection and interaction between individuals and the environment.
2. Professional value level
(1) Improve students' ability to distinguish the impact of different levels of life (including: physiology, psychology, society and culture) on individuals.
(2) Understand how social work can help individuals, families, communities or organizations with the impact of the environment.
3. Professional skills layer
(1) Strengthen students' sensitivity and cultural discernment ability, and thus help students strengthen their abilities to establish relationships with individuals, families, groups or communities, and enhance their empathy and recharge.
(2) Improve students' understanding of social work theory, and thus help students develop their unique work vision in social work, and learn to identify the connection and interaction between individuals and the environment in which they are located.
(3) Promote students' connections with social work theory and practical work intervention skills and ability. This course is a year of course designed to help students gain an understanding of complex human behaviors and experience through intellectual learning. In this course, we will develop from the time of the life course, and will describe one by one the characteristics of human behavior and possible important life impacts and events in different life courses, as well as their relationship with the environment. On the other hand, a series of theoretical introductions will help students understand how individuals develop themselves and interact with the environment. Finally, through the explanation of practical work skills, students will be helped to increase their personal skills to provide assistance to individuals, families, groups or communities under different circumstances.
