分子生物學和基因組技術的的快速進展,產生了許多生物相關的數據資料。這些大量累積的資料,需要利用電腦協助儲存、組織、搜尋、比對及分析。生物資訊學課程的目標是培養學生在後基因體時代應用大量生物資料的基本能力。內容包括使用已開發的簡易電腦軟體及熟悉Pubmed 等常用資料庫來做基因或蛋白質序列之搜尋與比對,以及蛋白質結構預測等。此次課程同時增加了實作 DNA barcoding 的部分 藉此實作訓練同學萃取DNA, PCR及分析 DNA序列. The rapid progress of molecular biology and genomic technology has produced a lot of biologically related data. This large amount of accumulated data needs to be used to assist in storage, organization, search, comparison and analysis. The goal of the biological information course is to cultivate students' basic ability to apply large amounts of biological data in the postgenomic era. Contents include searching and matching gene or protein sequences using developed simple computer software and familiarity with common databases such as Pubmed, as well as protein structure prediction. This course also added the part of the implementation of DNA barcoding, which practices training and peer extraction of DNA, PCR and analysis of DNA sequences.
生物資訊學是一門年輕的學門。它主要是利用電子計算機高速運算能力來處理,分析,擷取和挖掘大量生物實驗資料中具有生物意義的資訊,幫助研究人員解釋實驗資料,建構生物模型,以及預測生物系統的行為。
在這門課程中,將有系統的引導學生了解生物資訊學中幾個重要的領域,包括,(1)生物資料庫的認識與應用,(2)序列分析(DNA, RNA proteins),(3)生物資料統合分析(含多序列排比分析,建構演化樹,比較基因體學,DNA microarray)
Biological Information Science is a young school. It mainly uses the high-speed computing power of electronic computers to process, analyze, retrieve and mine a large amount of biological implications in biological experiment data, helping researchers to explain experimental data, construct biological models, and predict the behavior of biological systems.
In this course, there are systems to guide students to understand several important areas in biological information, including (1) the recognition and application of biological databases, (2) sequence analysis (DNA, RNA proteins), (3 ) Biodata synthesis analysis (including multi-sequence alignment analysis, construction of evolution trees, comparative gene science, DNA microarray)
