1.本課程以普通法(Common Law)及美國法為介紹主體。除法律發展與司法制度及法源之了解外，研讀並實作重要判例之摘要，以培養法律英文能力。主要內容如美國憲法、陪審制度、人權法案、正當程序等概述，以了解美國法制之特色及其與大陸法制發展之相互影響。
2.希望透過相關法律與案件及補充教材之學習、美國法相關案件之導讀、配合影片學習與英美法庭觀賞，引發同學學習方法與興趣之建立，及基本英美法概念之認識，與對其他國家社會文化歷史法制等之了解。進而省思法律如何制定、修正與執行，以符法律為良善與公平之藝術。
1. This course takes Common Law and American law as the main introduction. In addition to understanding legal development, judicial systems and legal sources, students also study and implement summaries of important cases to cultivate legal English skills. Main contents include an overview of the U.S. Constitution, the jury system, the Bill of Rights, due process, etc. to understand the characteristics of the U.S. legal system and its interaction with the development of the mainland legal system.
2. It is hoped that through the study of relevant laws and cases and supplementary teaching materials, the introduction of U.S. law-related cases, the study of videos and the viewing of British and American courts, students will be able to develop their learning methods and interests, and gain an understanding of basic British and American legal concepts, as well as knowledge of other countries. Understanding of social culture, history, legal system, etc. Then reflect on how the law is formulated, revised and implemented, and compliance with the law is the art of goodness and fairness.
英美法系以普通慣習、法官之判決先例、衡平法原則等發展而來。本課程以介紹美國法律為重心。影響大陸法系發展與英美法制核心概念之介紹，研讀並實作重要判例之摘要，以培養法律英文能力，啟發探究「法何以為法」之興趣。主要內容如美國憲法、侵權法、契約法、刑事訴訟法等概述。
The Anglo-American legal system developed from common custom, judges' precedents, and principles of equity. This course focuses on an introduction to U.S. law. Introduce the core concepts that influence the development of the civil law system and the Anglo-American legal system, study and implement summaries of important cases, in order to cultivate legal English skills and inspire interest in exploring "what is law?" Main contents include an overview of the U.S. Constitution, tort law, contract law, criminal procedure law, etc.
