「文化」是孕育一個民族、社會的根基及生命力,在歷史潮流演變下,深深根植於華人生活與思想中。本課程主要在於介紹中華傳統文化,討論其起源、影響,用更為寬廣的角度檢視中華文化,並思考如何將其教授給外籍學生,以幫助並吸引外籍學生認識、欣賞、理解華人社會及文化之內涵。
本課程目標在於了解華人文化,並養成思考生活中所出現的「文化足跡」,除更深入了解自身文化外,亦能應用於教學上。課程主題涵蓋:
(一)華人歷史、地理與文化
(二)華人思想體系及教育制度
(三)中華文化與藝術
(四)中華節慶及習俗
