Oral Training 3 is a third-year required course. The course is part of the Composition and Oral Training Series and is taught together with Composition 3. Students will acquire advanced academic oral skills and give final shape to and polish their oral skills. The oral training course in the junior year builds on the oral skills learnt in the freshman and sophomore years, but the oral tasks in the junior year are more demanding and challenging. Students will learn to present formal and semi-formal presentations. Students will also learn how to listen to public speaking critically, responsively, and objectively. Students will master presenting familiar topics in a smooth, understandable, and organized way. Small-group discussions and impromptu public speeches will also be part of this course. The oral ability of students is further improved through group discussions, individual presentations, argument and debates. Topics for discussion will include literature, new events as well as academic topics relevant to the lives of the students.
Students have to follow the department's guidelines regarding academic integrity. Plagiarism will result in punishment.Oral Training 3 is a third-year required course.
