本課程為研究所創作課程,旨在探討當代新媒體社會中廣泛的影像形式,引導創作者將影像視為一種跨越多元議題、學科和媒體的全球語言,進而將影像作為當代文化研究的途徑,並尋求影像藝術實踐的方式。
本課程的核心教學活動是製作影像作品,以攝影、錄像、動畫和影像裝置為主要創作形式,研討創作論述及展示手法。除了實作,課程中也將引入當代影像議題單元,與相關當代藝術家作品分析。整體上課方式將以『小型研究會』(Seminar)的模式進行理論思維與個人藝術創作的深度對談。
此課程雖為創作課程,但鼓勵學生閱讀或觀看相關文本與藝術作品,並以團體評圖討論模式(Group Art Critique),期望達到多元創作想法的流通,以開發學生獨立創作與研究的深度與可能性,並且去思考當代影像藝術如何成為一種介入當代現象的方式。
This course is a creative course at the Institute, aiming to explore the wider form of imagery in the contemporary new media society, and guide creators to view imagery as a global language that spans a variety of topics, subjects and media, and then use imagery as a path to contemporary cultural research, and seeking the way of imaging art practice.
The core teaching activity of this course is to produce video works, with photography, recording, animation and image devices as the main creative forms, and to discuss creative discussions and display techniques. In addition to practical work, contemporary imaging topic units will also be introduced in the course to analyze works by relevant contemporary artists. The overall coursework will be conducted in-depth discussions between theoretical thinking and personal art creation in the "Seminar" model.
Although this course is a creative course, it encourages students to read or view related texts and art works, and uses a group evaluation model (Group Art Critique), hoping to achieve the circulation of diverse creative ideas to develop the depth and possibilities of independent creation and research by students, and to think about how contemporary imaging arts become a way to intervene in contemporary phenomena.
