Starting with modernist sculpture in the early 20th century and ending with the development of the Western modernist art genre in the 1970s, this course serves as the structural main axis. The complex and chaotic political and social conditions in Europe in the first half of the 20th century corresponded to the rebellious characteristics of modern art and the theoretical basis for its pursuit of "new loyalties." Through the arrangement of the course, students understand modern art's eagerness to explore artistic possibilities, thereby establishing students' basic concepts of the development of modernist art, and understanding the important concepts that emerged in the modern art period such as "ready-made objects" and "popularization of materials." Concepts and techniques, and serve as a guide for understanding the multi-faceted development of contemporary art after the 1970s.
