從二十世紀初期的現代主義雕塑開始,到70年代的西方現代主義藝術流派的發展作為此課程的結構主軸。歐洲二十世紀前半葉複雜、混亂的政治及社會狀態,相對應的呼應現代藝術的叛逆特質以及追求對「新的忠誠」的理論根據。藉由課程的編排了解現代藝術對探求藝術可能性的熱切渴望,從而建立起學生對現代主義藝術發展的基本概念,了解諸如「現成物」以及「材質通俗化」等現代藝術時期即萌生的重要概念及手法,並作為理解在70年代之後的當代藝術往多方位發展的先導思路。Starting from modernist sculpture in the early twentieth century, to the development of the Western modernist art school in the 1970s, it was the main structure of this course. The first half of the 20th century Europe was complicated and chaotic political and social state, and the corresponding call for the rebellious characteristics of modern art and the theoretical basis of pursuing "new loyalty". Through course arrangement, we understand the passionate desire of modern art to explore the possibilities of art, and establish students' basic concepts for the development of modern theories, and understand the importance of modern art such as "prepared objects" and "popularization of materials" Concepts and techniques are the leading ideas for understanding the development of contemporary art in multiple directions after the 1970s.
