廣義的“圖像”(包括電影,動漫和影像紀錄)做為一種「閱讀」的形式,已經是現今社會重要的思考和表述模式。在數位時代的發展過程中更多的技術,譬如AR(擴增實境)、VR(虛擬實境)和乃至於MR(混合實境)或XR(延展實境),讓過去只能依賴文字的歷史的「再現」方式,在數位時代中將有不同面相的呈現方式。數位時代的敘事根本關鍵即是在圖像,或圖像所構成的動態畫面和情境。文字漸漸轉為輔助。
從史學應用的角度來說,歷史學和現世的連結很重要的部份是要建立在與歷史文化面有關的IP(智財權)上,在此趨勢下各界的努力已略見成果。譬如中央研究院所推動的台灣歷史文化的數位創意加值整合型計畫ccc創作集或著名的台灣吧,乃至公共電視「憤怒的菩薩」等均可說是是在這樣的浪潮下衍生出來的。與台灣歷史文化有關的圖像素材正不斷派生中。本課程旨在藉由閱讀與分析各種不同類別、性質與台灣歷史文化有關的“圖像”素材,幫助學生認識此種方式所“敘述”、“建構”的台灣「歷史」,並配合實作課程,進而培養以圖像建構出來的歷史思維與表述的能力。
