孔子是中國文化傳統中，最具影響力的人物。而記錄孔子言行的《論語》，亦是古典時代知識份子必讀的經典。《論語》所彰示的義理，致廣大而盡精微，所述論的成德之路，極高明而道中庸。孔子與《論語》不只是儒家或中國的聖人與經典，亦是東方乃至世界的文化遺產。本課程將藉由介紹這位儒家宗師，並導讀《論語》這部古代經典，由是討論儒學的基本關懷、理論與文化精神。本課程的主要學習目標有二：一是修習本課程後，能對孔子之學的理論觀點與脈絡，有基本的認識，並思索儒學的特質與發展。二是能在研讀《論語》的基礎上，訓練古典文獻的閱讀能力，並從中整構思想家論點的能力，以作為深入理解古典文化的基礎。Confucius is the most influential figure in Chinese cultural tradition. The "Odemos", which records Confucius' words and deeds, is also a classic that must be read by intellectuals in the classical era. The principles demonstrated in "Theory" are vast and as subtle as possible, and the path to achieve virtue in the theory is extremely brilliant and moderate. Confucius and Theory are not only Confucian or Chinese sages and classics, but also cultural heritages from the East and the world. This course will introduce this Confucian scholar and guide the ancient classic "Theory", which discusses the basic concerns, theory and cultural spirit of Confucianism. The main learning objectives of this course are two: First, after studying this course, you can have a basic understanding of the theoretical viewpoints and connections of Confucius's learning, and think about the characteristics and development of Confucianism. The second is to be able to practice the reading ability of classical literature on the basis of studying "Theory", and to organize the thinking points from it, as a foundation for a deep understanding of classical culture.
論語一書紀錄孔子言行，言簡意賅，亟待補充。例如子曰：「晉文公譎而不正，齊桓公正而不譎。」倘不就左傳所記齊桓、晉文之事加以印證，僅就「譎」、「正」二字作抽象之解釋，學者讀後，仍不免困惑。本課程重點及在搜集古今勢力家以具體解說論語之微言大義。
A book about Confucius' words and deeds are recorded, and his words are simple and need to be supplemented urgently. For example, Master said, "Duke Wen of the Han Dynasty is not upright, and Duke Huan is righteous but not upright." If you do not seal and verify the matters of Qi Huan and the Han Dynasty recorded by Zuo Zhuan, you will only use the words "王" and "六" to make an abstraction. After the explanation, the learners are still confused after reading it. The focus of this course is on collecting the subtle meanings of scholars from ancient and modern times to explain the subtle meaning of speech by experts in detail.
