課程目標及內涵 (Course Objectives and Contents) (限1950中文字)
本必修課程搭配「中文:語文與溝通」,每週一小時為兩位老師共時授課。學生必須參加完整中文及英文搭配課程共三學期,其間不得任意轉班。第三學期(108-1)上課時段將配合修課學生安排。
課程融合英文聽、說、讀、寫等語言技能,著重在一般情境、場合中所需之語言技能與流利度。課程設計藉由互動式學習及溝通,提升學生英文能力及充實學生個人智能。課程提供多元化學習情境與活動,讓學生在課堂上以及課外皆有充分使用英文的機會,同時提供一個和諧愉快、全英文的課堂學習環境,藉以增加學生課堂參與及學習英文的信心,並有助提升學生之英文智能與個人智能。
搭配「中文:語文與溝通」共時授課的部分,中文及英文教師合作設計展演或專題研究,讓學生以雙語進行主題式研究及成果發表,以培養學生未來多語文化溝通之能力。This required course is intended as a general four skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) integrated English-as-a-foreign-language (EFL) course emphasizing English fluency in general contexts, i.e., English use for general purposes. Thereby, the course is designed to help students use their existing general knowledge about themselves and about the world along with the knowledge of the English language they have acquired to enhance their general English proficiency and enrich their personal background knowledge by using English to learn and communicate. Specifically, the course maximizes students’ opportunities to use English in a wide variety of contexts both in and outside class. Furthermore, it provides an atmosphere that will increase students’ participation and confidence in a non-threatening, whole-English learning environment and that will facilitate students’ acquisition of new knowledge and skills of the English language and new knowledge about the world.
This English course is paired with “Chinese: Language and Communication.” One hour per week will be co-taught by both the English and Chinese instructors dedicated to bilingual and multicultural learning activities and presentations on a variety of themes to develop students’ multilingual and multicultural communication skills.

This compulsory course is paired with "Chinese: Language and Communication", which teaches two teachers a total of one hour every week. Freshman English is a compulsory course for senior students at Donghai University. This course combines English listening, speaking, reading, writing and other language skills, focusing on the language skills and fluency required for English in general situations and field use. Therefore, this course design mainly focuses on helping students combine their own existing general intelligence and English intelligence, and improve students' English abilities and fulfill their personal intelligence through English literature learning and communication. Specifically, this course provides a diverse learning situation and activities, allowing students to fully utilize English in class and outside the course. At the same time, it also provides a harmonious and pleasant, English-wide classroom learning environment to increase students' participation in class activities and confidence in learning English, and helps to enrich students' English intelligence and personal intelligence.
