Course Target

Teaching objectives (1) Enable students to understand the development trends of poultry industry. (2) Have the ability to professionally express and publish academically. (3) Have the ability to research and innovate animal husbandry related technologies. The abilities students develop after this course include (1) a deeper foundation of poultry nutrition. (2) Have the ability to execute and improve animal breeding management. Livestock and poultry production is the production value of Taiwan's important agricultural industry. This course strengthens students' impact on the physiology and nutrition of livestock and poultry, including the respiration and blood physiology and nutrition of livestock and poultry, such as: protein, energy, and minerals, and understands the relationship between climate change on the physiology, nutrition and growth of livestock and poultry. In addition, in Taiwan, the high temperature and humidity of the climate have an adverse impact on the growth of livestock and poultry. Through the course, the changes in the nutritional requirements of livestock and poultry under high environmental temperatures will be explained. The climate changes affect grain production. Therefore, finding alternative raw materials to make students understand that the feed adjustment should meet poultry nutritional needs and be one of the important topics for the selection of livestock and poultry with heat-resistant varieties. Due to the warming of the earth's climate, the climate is abnormal, the extreme climate frequency increases, and the seasonal temperature changes are increased; domestic animal husbandry production adopts intensive breeding, which leads to high breeding density and production systems inside, resulting in a wide range of diseases, pathogen accumulation and complexity, resulting in a decrease in production efficiency, and in addition to the international community, Europe, the United States and other countries, the animal welfare of economic animals (animal welfare) It is listed as an important method for poultry production, so through the introduction of poultry biosafety and animal welfare, students have the ability to apply new technology knowledge and analyze industry trends, and understand that they will change their plans and designs in animal houses, and can improve traditional livestock and apply them to livestock and poultry breeding management with what they have learned. At the same time, the course requires students to report on topics and trainees have the ability to express professionally and publish academically.
