生理學是一門研究生命現象如何運作的科學。秉承自古希臘以來的傳統，生理學以解剖學為基礎，強調在已知構造之上，應用物理及化學的知識來闡明生物系統運行的原理。隨著近代生物學的迅速發展，生理學的內容也融入了細胞學、遺傳學、生化學、分子生物學等知識與技術，在細胞與分子的層次闡釋生命現象。人體生理學本門課程的重心在於介紹人體內從細胞，器官，到系統的各個層次之間，彼此的聯繫和交互作用。教學的內容將著重於人體各個部份之間進行溝通、協調、抑制及反饋等過程的機制，進而闡明人體內各個系統如何共同運作以在不斷變化的外在環境中維持個體生命的恒定性。課程將適時應用臨床教案提供學生分組討論的機會，並訓練學生閱讀英文研究報告的能力。Physiology is a science that studies how life phenomena work. Adhering to the tradition since ancient Greece, physiology is based on anatomy, emphasizing the principles of biological systems operation based on known structures and applying the knowledge of physics and chemistry to understand the principles of biological systems. With the rapid development of modern biology, the content of physiology has also been integrated into knowledge and technology such as cell science, education, biochemistry, and molecular biology, and reflects the life phenomenon at the level of cells and molecules. The focus of this course on human physiology is on introducing the connection and interaction between each level of the human body from cells, organs, to systems. The content of teaching will focus on the mechanisms of communication, coordination, inhibition and counter-procedure between various parts of the human body, thereby clarifying how various systems in the human body work together to maintain the constantness of individual life in a constantly changing external environment. The course will apply clinical lesson plans appropriately to provide students with opportunities to organize discussions and train students' ability to read English research reports.
