加強英文閱讀理解能力、為高年級核心課程作預備。精進普通生物學之教學以及奠立大一學生
紥實的生物學識基礎、銜接本系大學部二年級「生物學研究導論」及三四年級「生物醫學專題
論文」及「生態學專題論文」課程，讓學生在知識、閱讀能力、實作能力的養成教育上，提供
一貫的發展脈絡。本課程預期奠定學生未來在學識（遺傳學及分子生物學）和研究實作（生物
醫學專題論文及生態學專題論文）的基礎能力。每班15至20人實施小班教學，由本系5至6位教師親自帶領。本課程教導生物學的基本學習方
法。從英文閱讀及課文延伸選讀中幫助學生習得未來進階生物學知識的方法，此與大二大三遺
傳學及分子生物學等必修課學習密切關聯。本課程亦將教導學生批判思考科學方法與科學邏
輯、期刊文獻閱讀、小組討論、寫作、專業與多媒體軟體使用等，與大二生物學研究導論和大
三大四的專題論文自成一貫脈絡。
