本課程的目的在介紹生態學研究的基本方法及過程。課程內容包括如何觀察、紀錄、找出問題、形成假說、設計實驗、收集資料到資料分析及報告撰寫等。這個課程由數個實驗或觀察貫穿、搭配而成，經由親身參與，同學將能完整瞭解進行生態學研究的每一步驟及完整過程。

The purpose of this course is to introduce the basic methods and processes of ecological research. The course content includes how to observe, record, identify problems, formulate hypotheses, design experiments, collect data, analyze data and write reports, etc. This course is run through and combined with several experiments or observations. Through personal participation, students will be able to fully understand every step and complete process of ecological research.

本實驗課主要訓練學生實際演算，利用sas軟體分析，讓學生以簡單的實驗來驗證假說，建立學生對資料數據的處理，結果之研判及實驗工作的規劃(採用統計設計方式)。

This experimental class mainly trains students in practical calculations, using SAS software analysis, allowing students to use simple experiments to verify hypotheses, and establish students' processing of data, research and judgment of results, and planning of experimental work (using statistical design methods).
